Sharing and Accepting Invivations to Share iFolders

  1. Double click on the iFolder Services icon in the task tray located at the bottom right corner of the desktop.  The iFolder Manager window will appear.
  2. You can expand the name column to see the complete iFolder names if needed.
  3. Highlight the iFolder you want to share and then click on the SHARE button at the top.
  4. "iFolder Properties for (your folder)" window will appear.  On this window your name will appear as the owner.
  5. To share this folder with someone else click ADD.
  6. The "Selected Users" window will appear with a list of users to choose from.  To find a user you can type the person's name in the text box at the top "<Enter text to find user>".  The name will show up under the iFolder User box.
  7. Click on their name.
  8. Click ADD.
  9. Clock OK.
  10. To set the appropriate level of access, click on the user's name to highlight it.
  11. Click on ACCESS.
  12. Select one of the three levels of access you desire to give to this user:
    Full Control - has read/write access to the iFolder and manages membership and access rights for all users except the owner.
    Read/Write - has rights to directories and files in the iFolder.
    Read Only - has rights to directories and files in the iFolder.  This member can modify a file, but the local changes are not synchronized to other members' copies on the iFolder.
  13. Click OK.
  14. Click OK again
  15. iFolder will synchronize for you.

Alternate Method of selecting access for other users:

  1. Select the next iFolder you want to share.
  2. Right click on the iFolder and choose SHARE WITH...
  3. "iFolder Properties for your folder" window appears.  Choose ADD.
  4. Scroll down on the list under iFolder Users and select the user (highlight the name).
  5. Click ADD.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click the user's name.
  8. Click ACCESS and then select the access level for this user.
  9. Click OK.
  10. iFolder will synchronize for you.

If you want to change the access level for a folder:

  1. Select the iFolder you want to change and click the SHARE button.
  2. Click ACCESS and select a different access level for this user.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click OK.
  5. iFolder will synchronize for you.

Accepting Invitations

When someone shares in invitation to an iFolder with you, a balloon should pop up un the bottom right corner of the desktop.

  1. Click on the balloon.  The "Set Up iFolder" window will appear telling you that you've been invited to share an iFolder.
  2. To choose the location for the new shared folder to be placed, click on BROWSE.
  3. Click on MY COMPUTER.
  4. Click on LOCAL DRIVE (C:).
  5. Click DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS.
  6. Click on (your name) FOLDER.
  7. Click on IF3. (This is the folder you created to hold all of your iFolders.)
  8. Click OK.  The iFolder is now saved in your IF3 folder.
  9. Click OK again.
  10. Double click the iFolder icon in the task tray and the iFolder Manager window appears.
  11. Click the new shared iFolder to highlight.
  12. Click SYNCHRONIZE.
  13. Now the iFolder is ready to share.
  14. Close the window.

If the balloon does not pop up for an invitation:

  1. Double click on the iFolder Services icon in the task tray.  The iFolder Manager window appears.  The iFolder that has been shared with you will appear in the window but will be grayed out.
  2. Double click the iFolder.  The "Setup iFolder" Window will appear.
  3. Click BROWSE to select where to place the iFolder.
  4. Click MY COMPUTER.
  5. Click LOCAL DROVE (C:).
  6. Click DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS
  7. Click on (your name) FOLDER.
  8. Click IF3.
  9. Click OK.  The iFolder is now saved in your IF3 Folder.
  10. Click OK again.
  11. Select the iFolder.
  12. Click SYNCHRONIZE.
  13. Close the window.
